This lecture is a review of the ultrasound changes observed in cases of diffuse chronic liver disease or in focal pathology.
The first objective is to review the normal US aspect of the liver in order to be able to recognize liver disease, either diffuse or focal.
A second objective is to discuss pitfalls and variants.
The main common pathological situations are illustrated by many examples and discussed specifying evocative sonographic signs.
At the end of this lecture, the student is able to recognize the ultrasound signs of the main liver pathologies.
