Lesson description:
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common and often one of the most difficult liver cancers to treat, especially when of multicentric origin. This can result in a poor prognosis after surgical resection, with a high risk for tumor recurrence. Indications for tumor ablation in the liver should include the adoption of best practices to select the best approach for the individual patient in line with principles of precision medicine. In this lecture, Dr. Menezes reviews the status of percutaneous ablation of HCC tumors.
