During this lesson we will learn what is a specular echo and a scattering echo and how we can improve the specular echoes by changing the angle of incidence of the ultrasound beam.
Scattering echoes give ultrasound parenchyma images.
To form the image on the monitor the amplitude of each echo is represented by a dot. The position of the dot represents the depth from which the returning echo was received. The brightness of the dot represents the amplitude of the returning echo. These dots are combined to form a complete image.
